In the last few decades, church has become market driven.
Our culture demands instant gratification; if it doesn't taste good,
smell good, sound good, and feel good, then it's not going to
"sell" to the average person. Tragically, many
churches are modeling this technique for church growth at the expense of what really matters.Church is not about
entertainment; yet many churches today tailor their services to cater to the insatiable desire of
their congregations to be entertained. Of course, they have
camouflaged their product with religious words and even bible
verses, but if you remove the sanctimonious wrappings, there is very
little difference between the entertainment of the world and the
so-called worship of many "emerging" churches. Sadly,
many Christians are more impressed with the
appearance and experience of the worship service rather than the
structure and substance of that worship.
Cornerstone Baptist Church is a traditional Baptist Church.
We sing from the hymnal those timeless hymns of faith which honor
our God and exalt His virtues. I preach expositionally
through the bible.
As the pastor, my heart is burdened
to preach and teach the word of God. It
is my prayer that each individual who enters the doors at
Cornerstone will be challenged to a deeper devotion to the Lord and
greater godliness in his or her daily life (1 Timothy 4:8).
Christianity is not
"religion," it's a relationship.
I want to help you develop a deep and personal relationship with the
living God; I want to help you show-forth the righteousness of
Christ through daily cleansing and yieldedness to His word; and, I
want you to grow to spiritual maturity in Christ so that you can
fulfill God's will for your life and "bear much
fruit" for the glory of God.
"That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God."
(Colossians 1:10)
