Personal Background
Jason was born in Dekalb, Georgia December 14, 1974. He was
reared in a Christian home on a farm in Covington, Georgia. When he
was eight years old, under the sound preaching of his pastor at his
home church, Meadow Baptist Church, Jason trusted in Jesus Christ as
his personal Savior. Jason stayed active in different ministries of
his home church, which include children's church, choir, Sunday
school, and high school youth group. During his college years, Jason
married his childhood sweet heart, Melody. They were wed on December
20th, 1997. The Lord has blessed their home with three
children, Ashleigh (12/12/99), Megan (9/14/02), and David
(12/28/04).

Ministerial background
During Jason's bible training at Bob Jones, he had the
privilege of regular opportunities to preach in various capacities. While in
college, Jason and Melody joined Morningside Baptist Church,
in Greenville, SC where
they stayed active in the ministry by serving in children's church,
nursery, evangelism training, and special evangelistic outreaches.
While in college, Jason also had the privilege of serving as
a chaplain for a semester on campus. He also, as a requirement for
graduation, completed a ten-week church internship as a youth pastor
at Maranatha Baptist Church in Ripley, Tennessee.
In July 2000, Jason and Melody were accepted by
Open Door Baptist Missions as church
planting missionaries to Vancouver, WA and began
deputation. After one year of
deputation meetings on the East Coast, the Lord directed
them to move and finish their deputation on the West
Coast.
On July 22, 2001 at Morningside Baptist Church in
Greenville, South Carolina, Jason was ordained into the Gospel
ministry.
In August, 2001, Jason and Melody moved to Hillsboro, OR to serve as
assistant pastor at Heritage Baptist Church
in order to gain some practical experience in church planting from Pastor Mike Irwin.
In May, 2003, they moved from Hillsboro, OR to
Vancouver, WA, and on July 13th, 2003, they held the
first service of Cornerstone Baptist Church in the Clark
County Square Dance Center.
On October 1st, 2006, Cornerstone Baptist Church held
the first services at its current location
- a 3,100 sq. ft. house on 2.24 acres in Brush Prairie,
WA.
